slow combustion heating and gas fire heating Radiant Heating

Wood Heaters and all that comes naturally

Nothing warms us deeply as the radiant heat of a wood fire. Its not just the comfortable warmth, it's the way a wood fire warms the heat. Somehow it feels right. And when it comes to the environment it is!

You see, wood is a renewable energy resource and renewable means you never have to run out. Burn a fossil fuel such as oil or gas and carbon dioxide gases are released to the environment and, you guessed it, more greenhouse warming. Yes, the same thing happens when you burn wood, but when we replenish burnt wood with new young trees, they absorb carbon dioxide as they grow.

Landcare AustraliaThe result? You are warmed and not the globe. Pecan is dedicated to doing its bit for world environment. We support Landcare Australia and its efforts for reforestation of Australia.

Radiant heatingThe simple story of radiant heating.

Simplicity is the key that makes Nectre the sure fire first choice. Primary air enters the firebox through the door and is directed at the heart of the fire, creating a turbulent mix of combustible gases. A secondary inlet located at the top of the door allows a carefully measured amount of additional air to enter, completing secondary combustion of unburnt flue gases. The result is extremely efficient combustion with high temperatures that are maintained by the firebrick lining and flue baffle to lengthen the flame path.

Built so you won't get burnt.

You have probably seen or read a lot about heaters by now. To start with, you've had to decide about what form of heating you want. That's been difficult enough. Now you have to choose what's hot in wood heaters. We're biased, but you ask yourself the following, and your decision will be easier to make.

  • Has my new heater been tested to conform to Australian standards and emission?
  • Is it built with quality Australian steel?
  • Are all joints MIG welded? Are all walls of my heater box lined with firebricks?
  • Can I load really large longs and then watch them burn through huge ceramic glass windows that ensure I enjoy the fire?
  • Does my heater have a cast iron door with heat proof woven rope providing an airtight seal and specially designed air control and door handles that not only look good but ensure simplicity of operation and stay cool?
